As a well established company Shop-Equip Limited wants to ensure that our Terms & Conditions of sale are upfront and as straight-forward as possible. By placing an order with Shop-Equip Ltd you are accepting these terms of business. If there is any information you are not clear on, please do not hesitate in contacting us by telephone or email and we would be more than happy to clarify any points.
TERMS OF BUSINESS
Shop-Equip Limited are major suppliers of commercial equipment, commercial refrigeration and shopfitting supplies to commercial customers throughout the UK. All sales are considered a "Business to Business" (B2B) contract.
We constantly update our website with the latest stock availability in our warehouse and/or from our suppliers. However, there are the odd occasions when our stock levels don't reflect the actual stock available on the website. If you have placed an order with us and the order cannot be fulfilled we will contact you to advise stock availability date and /or alternative product that meets your specification. We would advise for critical purchases that you contact us by telephone and we can affirm stock availability
If we are unable to assist you we will refund your payment without delay.
We do not supply goods on a trial basis, therefore it is your responsibility to ensure that the goods you order are suitable for your requirements and are of the “duty” they are intended for.
It is your responsibility to ensure that all connections to services including Gas, Electricity and Water / Drainage are adequate for the equipment and where applicable approved and qualified fitters are used. Shop-Equip Ltd will accept no liability for damage to goods or any other liability or loss caused by incorrect fitting or installation.
As a key supplier of commercial equipment, Shop-Equip Ltd takes reasonable care to ensure that all product description, specification and imagery is accurate. However, all sizes, colours, dimension and measurements should be treated as approximate. Full detailed manufacturer’s specifications are available on request.
There are a number of warranty options available on commercial equipment, so please ensure that the warranty option on the product you have chosen meets with your requirements. As part of our improved commitment to our customers we offer additional warranty on a range of products at very competitive prices.
Back to Base Warranty.
Customers must arrange for any faulty unit(s) to be returned to the manufacturer for repair when the items are covered by a back-to-base warranty. Please ensure that the item(s) are well packaged as neither Shop-Equip Limited nor the manufacturer will accept any responsibility for any loss or damage caused due to poor packaging when the item is in transit.
Please contact a member of our customer support team to obtain a returns number for your package from the manufacturer.
Parts Only Warranty.
A lot of commercial refrigeration equipment is supplied with a parts only warranty which we strongly advise of upgrading to Parts and Labour.
If your equipment fails under a parts only warranty you will have to call a refrigeration engineer to visit your site and advise you of the parts required. If you provide us with a engineers report with information of the parts required, we will then arrange for the parts to be despatched from the manufacturer or their distributor.
You will then need to arrange for the service engineer to revisit to fit the part. As you can appreciate this can take some time and your equipment may be out of action during this period. You also have to consider the cost of two engineer visits.
Parts and Labour Warranty.
With a parts and labour warranty all you need to do is give us a call and we will liaise with the manufacturer or their distributor and organise an engineer visit to fix your equipment. Different levels of parts and labour warranty are available, so it’s worth looking at a number of products to see which offers the best value for money. Unlike other online suppliers we will always liaise with the manufacturer / distributor for you, to ensure a speedy resolution.
Please Note: In the event that a repair is required which is not deemed to be manufacturers fault, i.e. poor maintenance, wrongly sited etc then all costs will be charged to the customer.
Unless otherwise stated all goods manufactured by Shop-Equip Ltd carry twelve months warranty on faulty parts or workmanship. Shop-Equip Ltd makes no warranty whatsoever in respect of items which it does not manufacture. Shop-Equip Ltd shall however assist the buyer to obtain the benefit of any applicable warranties given by a third party manufacturer or distributor. Customers must use the warranty arrangements specifically provided as stated by Shop-Equip Ltd staff or Shop-Equip Ltd publicity and marketing media.
Shop-Equip Ltd cannot be held responsible in the event of a manufacturer or distributor being unable to provide warranty, including labour and/or parts where the manufacturer or distributor has discontinued a product for any reason and parts are no longer available, or suffered bankruptcy, or is under financial administration by a Receiver.
Where an on-site visit is deemed necessary under the terms of the manufacturers/distributors warranty the cost of the visit will be bourne by the manufacturer/distributor. Whilst every effort is made to determine the cause of a fault before sending an engineer on-site it is not always possible to make a correct diagnosis. In the event that the fault is due to customer neglect, failure to operate or maintain the equipment according to manufacturer's instructions, accidental damage or abuse then Shop-Equip Ltd cannot be held responsible for the cost of the engineers visit. Any such cost will be charged to the customer. Wherever possible a copy of the engineer's report will be provided on request.
All transaction on the Shop-Equip Ltd website go through our secure payment gateway. No payment details are stored on our website, so your information is kept safe.
We all know that credit card fraud is at an all-time high. To protect you from fraudulent card transaction, we may contact you by telephone to validate your order and if the card holder address is different to the delivery address we may also ask for an authorisation code from your bank.
Payments by BACS transfer can be made by following the information at check out or alternatively take a look at our lease purchase options.
Please note that in cases where we have made a refund to you credit or debit card, it can take the banking process up to 4 days to credit your account.
Delivery and Charges
Wherever possible, we the company will deliver from stock. Certain items are subject to a carriage cost direct from the Manufacturer or Master UK Distributor. In such cases, you will be contacted before your order is processed.
Please provide us with a contact telephone number at checkout. Failure to do so may result in the despatch of your order being delayed.
Orders under £200 + vat are subject to a delivery charge of £5.25 exc. vat.
Orders over £200 + vat are delivered free* of charge.
*Please Note: Certain items are subject to extra carriage costs direct from the manufacturer. In such cases, you will be contacted before your order is processed. Delivery charges to Islands, Highlands and remote areas are subject to quotation and may take longer. Your order will be held until additional delivery charges have been confirmed and agreed.
Estimated Delivery Times
We do our utmost to ensure that products are delivered to you on time and to the estimated delivery dates illustrated on our website. However, Shop-Equip Ltd is not liable for any delays, howsoever caused.
Please DO NOT book any fitters or installers of the equipment ordered until after the goods have been delivered and inspected by yourself. We will not take any responsibility for any costs incurred as a result of arranging this in advance of delivery.
Delivery of Large Items
Generally, deliveries will be to kerbside ONLY unless prior arrangements have been made. The delivery person / driver may at his/her discretion assist with delivering the goods to a location within the premises. This is strictly at the customer sole risk.
For large items the chosen delivery address must be accessible by an 18 ton lorry. Delivery services that provide delivery into the premises it is the customers responsibility to ensure that the equipment will fit through any doors ways etc. Failure to disclose such information may result in extra costs being incurred by a failed/aborted delivery.
Deliveries take place between the hours of 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday. We may charge a redelivery fee if no one is available on site to take delivery of the goods.
When a product is delivered to you, the first thing you must do is inspect the goods for any damage. Failure to check the goods and document any damage with the driver will result in a claim for damage being rejected. Signing 'unexamined' is not acceptable. In the event that the driver will not wait for you to inspect the goods, please sign for as 'Damaged'. Once signed as damaged, you must report the damage to Shop-Equip Limited in writing within 24 hours to make a claim.
Delivery does not include the removal of old units or disposal of packaging materials (pallet, wrapping etc...). Collection and disposal of old units can be selected on a number of our products, in such cases where this service has been requested you must ensure that the items have been unplugged, disconnected, emptied and made ready for collection outside of the premises.
We will charge a redelivery fee if no one is available on site to take delivery of the goods.
A 25% restocking fee of the items value will be charged if delivery fails due to any of the points above, or if the product is returned and is not faulty. Please note that once an order has been placed and despatched the restocking fee will still apply.
Bespoke and Special Orders
When customised or bespoke goods are ordered we will not accept ANY returns. You are responsible for ordering suitable goods for your requirements. If however the goods are damaged, you may be able to make a claim against the manufacturer or supplier if you have inspected and signed the goods as damaged upon delivery. No claims against damage will be accepted if you have signed for goods without indicating any damage.
Goods are not sold on a trial basis. Customers should check specifications and suitability before ordering. Shop-Equip Ltd does not warrant the suitability of goods for specific applications.
Goods supplied to you by special order that are not listed in our catalogue or website may not be returned unless they are faulty or damaged on delivery.
Goods which have been incorrectly ordered or are unsuitable will only be accepted for return with prior approval from Shop-Equip Ltd. Returned goods will only be accepted within 7 days of delivery if they are correctly packed in the original packaging, with original manuals and have not been used. A restocking charge of 25% will be levied on all such goods.
Goods may not be returned without prior authorisation and a Goods Return Authorisation number from Shop-Equip Ltd. This can be obtained by contacting our customer service team on 01623 741 500.
Customers are responsible for returning goods, ensuring returned goods are suitable packed and obtaining necessary proof of delivery and receipt.
Comments and Feedback
We are pleased to hear any feedback that you can offer. Any comments or feedback that are submitted to Shop-Equip or our independent feedback platform (Ekomi) will be dealt with as soon as possible. Please note that once submitted, it becomes part of Shop-Equip property and will not be treated as confidential.
Neither party shall be liable for any default due to any act of God, war, strike, lock out industrial action, fire or other event beyond the reasonable control or either party.
None or Fraudulent Payment
Payment must be made on time, in full, and without any deduction, set-off or counterclaim. In the event that an account is outstanding, we will refer the matter to our debt collection agents, Daniels Silverman Limited, which will incur costs. Any costs incurred to collect the debt will be added to the debt, plus VAT at the prevailing rate. You agree that you will be legally liable to pay us that surcharge and that payment of the same can be enforced against you in court. You also agree to pay interest at the relevant reference rate provided for under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998, which interest is payable both after and before any judgment of the court and continues to accrue.
All disputes arising of this contract shall be subject to the jurisdiction of England & Wales.
